Each online one-to-one Maths session lasts 60 minutes.This gives us enough time to work through the key areas your child needs support with, while keeping sessions focused, interactive and tailored to their individual pace.

Who do you provide Maths tuition for?

I provide personalised one-to-one online Maths tuition for children in Years 3–6. This includes children who need help building confidence, addressing gaps in their learning, strengthening their Maths skills or preparing for SATs.I also welcome home-educated children in Years 3–6.I work with all children and have experience supporting neurodivergent children, including autistic children and children with ADHD. I adapt my teaching to each child's individual needs, learning style and pace.

What does an online Maths lesson involve?

Sessions are live and interactive, with teaching tailored to your child's needs and current level of understanding.I use digital resources and an interactive online classroom to explain concepts, work through examples together and give your child plenty of opportunities to practise and apply their skills.I adapt the pace and explanations depending on how your child is responding.

What does my child need for online tutoring?

It's simple to get set up for online tutoring. I use a web-based digital classroom that you can access through a standard browser, and I'll provide you with a simple personal link to join me. There's no complicated software to install.For the best interactive experience, I recommend your child joins the session using a laptop or desktop computer (PC or Mac) rather than a tablet. This allows them to use Zoom and the interactive whiteboard seamlessly during the lesson.Your child will also need a pen tablet/pad and stylus, which allows them to write and work directly on the interactive whiteboard, just as they would in a face-to-face lesson.Don't worry if you're unfamiliar with pen pads — they are straightforward to set up and use. I can advise you on what type of equipment would work with your existing setup, and I can provide an example of a suitable pen pad to help you know what you're looking for. I don't recommend or sell a particular brand.You'll also need a reliable internet connection and a suitable space for your child to learn. I'll provide the online classroom and digital resources.

What if my child lacks confidence or doesn't enjoy Maths?

This is something I understand very well. I don't expect children to simply “try harder” when they're struggling.I break concepts down into manageable steps, explain things in different ways and give children the time and encouragement they need to understand.My aim is to help children move from “I don't get it” to “I get it now” — building both their Maths skills and their confidence along the way.

Yes. I have extensive experience supporting Year 6 children with Maths SATs.SATs preparation focuses on strengthening the underlying Maths skills children need, including arithmetic, reasoning and problem solving, alongside developing confidence in tackling different types of questions.My aim is to help children feel prepared and able to approach SATs with greater confidence, rather than adding to exam pressure.
